Soft kitty, warm kitty...

...little ball of fur.

Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr.

Sick kitty, snotty kitty, big ball of fur.

Sad kitty, sore kitty, weeze weeze weezer.

The story of my past few days. All the kitties are infected, sick, and miserable. I've been shoving pills the Vet prescribed down their throats twice a day to help alleviate the snottiness. It's so gross. No one's ever been sick before, they don't know what's going on, and are just dealing with it. They plod over to me and settle around on the couch, just laying there, tongues sticking out, trying to breath.

I'm alright, missing Hubby, not sleeping well. Dragons & equines have been born. Now I'm totally out of Sculpey. Need some so badly!

I did drive up to the apartment yesterday. Napped with Hubby for 2 hours, which was nice, and then we both drove back down to the house, cars loaded with boxes and a Squee. The drive back was terrifying. I had to stop to gas up my (Daddy's) car and while doing so it rained, that's fine, then a GIGANTIC lightning boly danced across the sky accompanied immediately by a CRACKCRASH of thunder. Me, Hubby, and 2 other guys jumped. I, into Hubby's arms. We were all shaken to the core and wished each other a safe trip when leaving.

The rain was pouring buckets and anxiety started taking hold. I got out of the city and over the bridge that separated counties before pulling in to a gas station. Turning off the car paying my head on the steering wheel, I took deep breaths. I wasn't panicking, but I was anxious and needed a break. Hubby was worried and pulled in behind me. We got out of our cars and he held me for a moment before I went potty and then held me again before I got back in the car. He was so amazing and understanding. I just needed a little break.

The storm caught up with us as we pulled back onto the road. Rain coming down so hard it was hard to see the road, but thankfully, we out drove it. Arriving at the house we unloaded the cars, took a break panting, and then went out to grab some food. Burger King. I'm happy to say the one near the house is nice, and clean, and I feel fine eating inside that place. Unlike the one up by the apartment. Then we ran to Publix to grab a armful of food each. Literally. The entire time we were out I was making mental notes of what time places closed. Cause it's all different than up by the apartment.

Hubby spent the night, and I'm happy to say, I had the best night sleep in about a week.

He's back at work today and won't be coming down overnight, but he'll be down tomorrow. Which, hopefully, means a D&D game!!

I'll probably be driving up on Wednesday, to finish up more packing, and then drive stuff back down maybe on Thursday. So much to do and so little time left. Gotta get a storage unit. Gotta put in our change of address. Gotta go pick up Daddy on Sunday. Gotta, gotta, gotta...

~

I had a banana for breakfast and a can of Coke, then a huge cup of tea.

Lunch might be a bowl of dry Honey Chex.

I'm not sure about dinner, maybe a can of green beans, iono.

What happened on Thursday.

So I've moved into my Daddy's place and Hubby is still up at the apartment. It's so odd, like I'm living a different life. Not having him around, especially when it's time to sleep. It's even more odd that I'm not packing right now. Kinda got use to it. Now poor Hubby has taken it upon himself to pack after he gets home from work.

Squee hasn't been feeling well and yesterday he was hardly breathing. There was bubbles of spittle drooling down from his mouth, and eventually one of his eyes was swollen shut. Needless to say I was worried. I called Hubby and he was worried too. I went to sleep early and woke up at 5am to make sure he was at the vet (a hour away) by the time they opened at 7:30am.

The news was, thankfully, good. He has a cold, a virus, that he probably caught while he was staying at the vet those few days last week. He got prescribed some meds to help clear out his nose, and another med to help him relax so he can pee easier. (Cause he's only going in little spurts at a time.)  Oh yes, he also got some steam vapor treatment to help clear up his lungs and some IV fluids, cause he hadn't been eating for the last day and a half.

Expensive kitty.

Big baby.

Well behaved. I mean REALLY well behaved. All the people that work at the vet love him and was actually happy to see him again.

Thank the gods for the Care Credit card!

After the vet visit I (and Squee) crashed with Hubby in the apartment till about 4:30pm. I'm leaving Squee up there till Sunday, in hopes he can relax and get better without and extra stresses. Then I drove back to Daddy's place.

The interwebz been down here, so this post is probably coming late. Tomorrow, hopefully, after I sleep, I'll move some stuff around here and make room for a few more boxes. Then on Sunday, it's a hour drive back up to the apartment and then another hour drive back down here. Thankfully Hubby will be with me. That'll be a nice change.

~

Food has been...different.

Usually consisting of a bowl of Strawberries & Cream oatmeal when I wake up. Sweet tea to drink.

I had kielbasa (spelling?) & corn on Wednesday and leftovers yesterday.

Today I actually also had a sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich from Dunkin'Doughnuts with orange juice while waiting for Squee to get his vapor treatment. It was sooooo goooood.

I did sneak a can of Coke from the apartment and am currently drinking it along with eating a cup of apple sauce.

My brother brought over some pot roast and mash taters yesterday, so I'll probably heat that up later.

I should be sleeping.

I totally should be sleeping now. It's 3am and I'm suppose to be up/dressed/awake at 7am. I'll be up/dressed/drugged and in some state of awareness, but I can't guarantee how much, with a can of Coke in my hand.

Today I take Daddy to the airport so he can go have a 2 week booty call. Go him! Then I get to try and figure out how to get back by myself. He won't listen to me or his fiancee about writing down/printing out directions, claims the way is easy and signs all mark the way. We'll see about that, it'll be an adventure, that's for sure.

Hubby and one of our friends loaded up 2 cars with stuff Nico can't live without + a few bonuses (box of books YAY) + 2 kitties (Squee & Zentara) and drive a hourish down to Daddy's house. The drive wasn't bad we did have to pull over once cause I was having a panic attack, so I popped a pill for it, and then once more to make a pit stop, cause that's where I ALWAYS stop on the way down.

I'm kinda excited about moving in here and pretty pissed. Excited cause it's all 1 level, open, and spacious in the living areas. Daddy has done his best to make room for us, he only asks that we hold off shoving everything into his room till after he comes back in 2 weeks to get more stuff to take up there. No biggie.

I'm PISSED that BOTH of my brothers left the bedrooms pigstys. It's fucking nasty. And messy. And smelly. Have you ever smelled dirty hockey equipment? Let me tell you its just fucking nasty. So I get to clean at least the room we're staying in of all the shit one brother left behind and hasn't brought over to his big ass house. Probably pull the carpet up, cause well, it's just old. And scrub the hell out of this room. Piss on him, seriously. When I moved out I wasn't allowed to leave any mess at all. The only thing that was allowed to stay was my costumes. The floor was vacuumed, walls scrubbed, fucking place was fucking clean.

This mess left by the brother who thinks I'm worthless and is pissed at me cause I don't have a job. Well fuck him, seriously.

Our 2 kitties with me are pretty scared, they only came out after Daddy went to bed and are now carefully and slowly exploring the house. They'll adjust.

I do miss Hubby. I'm not pining for him but I miss his presence and companionship.

My new blow-up mattress sprung 2 small leaks, I have them taped up for tonight and hopefully I won't be on the ground in the morning. I'm blaming Zentara for that, she was scrambling to flee up on the bed and I'm pretty sure she punctured the mattress.

Hubby will either be visiting me tonight or Thursday night. bringing the final 2 kitties down as well as a few more boxes. Apparently he went into hyperdrive and finished packing up nearly everything left in the house save for the kitchen. Good for him and stress motivation.

Thank you Hubby and friend whom I shall refer to a Zuri! Thank you so much for today and making everything sooth as silk! <3

What a week!

Last week was crazy, that's for sure.

Our poor Squee, started acting funny on Monday night, about 2 hours before Hubby came home. The night before I had an appointment to get my tooth pulled. We comforted him, as much as we could, but he just made some little weird sounds and then started squatting again.Thinking he was stopped up again I made a note to feed him more wet food in the morning. His stomach looked HUGE, which is a very odd thing to notice, considering that he's all fluff. I thought I'd be responsible and had us take sleeping pills to get to bed early, since we had to get up mega early.

About 2:30a.m. while Hubby & I were sitting on the couch playing our respective video games, an unusual cry caught our attention. I told Hubby that it was probably Squee, and asked him to check. He shrugged and didn't move. Then I said, half jokingly:

"It could be his only cry for help before he dies."

Hubby froze and looked at me. "Damn you."

His words were soft and held no animosity. We both peeled off the couch and knelt beside a now prone Squee, lying on his side. He was breathing, but not blinking, and the most impassive we've ever seen him in his entire life. I closed his eyes for him and he slowly opened them back up, but they were unfocused. He let us pat him and look him over without even trying to move.

Then he barely lifted his head let out an unearthly cry.

It was horrid and I scooted back behind Hubby, terrified, asking what to do. We were both in tears, thinking that our baby boy was dying in front of us.

He let out another unearthly cry, like that of a constrained lion's roar full of pain. Nothing like any sound he's ever made in his entire life.

I stepped over to my laptop, looking up the phone number of the nearest vet. No one was in when I called but thankfully they had an ER Vet's number listed on the answering service. I asked Hubby what to do what seemed like a zillion times, he didn't know. I knew we had no money to pay for anything, except putting him down so he wasn't suffering.

Finally after the third unearthly cry Hubby told me to call the ER Vet. Squee literally forced himself to stand and plodded into one of the boxes that we have set us as kitty beds. I called and thank all the Gods there ever was, the girl was sweet, I probably sounded like a crazy person. The fee just to be seen was $105. Just to be seen! Not even including whatever treatment they followed through with. Thanking her, I asked if they had payment plans available. No. But they did accept a Care Credit card and it could be applied & approved online in just minutes. Thanking her again I hung up and told Hubby everything.

We already had that card, and he looked to check it's balance. There was enough on it. Hubby then grabbed our large kitty carrier and went over to the box, asking Squee, quite literally. "Do you want to get in for me?"
Squee heaved himself right into the carrier, like a good boy.

Our meds were already starting to kick in, but adrenaline was kicking in too. The ER Vet was only 15 minutes away, I called them and told them that we were coming in. A short drive later (Squee has always loved car rides) we arrived and handed him over. It was 4:30am. The wait wasn't long before the vet saw us, told us what he found, and set out a treatment plan.

Long story short, he hasn't been able to pee. That's right, our constipation problem, was instead a pee'ing problem. Adding wet food to his diet helped a bit before. Apparently pee'ing problems are quite common with male cats, something in their plumbing gets irritated and swollen. The Vet said we caught the problem fairly early and it should be treatable, but it could also reoccur later. Wet food and plenty of water was what he needed to eat. He was going to be kept till the ER Vet clinic closed, given a kitty cathator (no clue how to spell that), an IV, and a emergency collar (cone of shame). He's be sedated and have a couple of stitches in his bum to keep everything in place. In the morning we would have to bring him to our regular vet to be kept and watched for 2-3 days, 1 minimum with that cathator in.

We thanked him and went to finish our paperwork and settle the bill. The attending nurse set us up and explained that this problem is waaaaaaay more common than people think and that a surgery might become necessary to rewire his plumbing. She assured us that it would be less expensive in the long run. She also said that she's seen this problem so much that she refuses to have male cats ever again. We were informed, $350 later (thank you Care Credit card), that pickup time was 7am.

Just a couple hours.

OMFG.

Okay okay. Kev meds had kicked into full swing and I drove us home. He set the alarm and we napped (zoinked out) till 6:45. Dressed, and I drove us back to the vet, he was still too sleepy to drive but wouldn't let me go alone, cause he's amazing.

The Vet Dr. asked us to stay around till our "regular" vet was open, which was 7:30, he wanted to talk directly to the other vet, make sure that they were expecting us, and ready to care for our baby. We were touched.

A highly drugged Squee was handed over to us, as well as a bag of IV fluids, then we loaded back into the car. Before I closed the door on Hubby's side (he was holding the carrier and our precious cargo) I said Squee's name and he moved right to my voice pushing his head against the door to be petted. We indulged him for a few minutes, talking softly and petting him through the carrier door. The drive to our regular vet (one we haven't been to in 7-8 years cause there was no need) was calm and uneventful.

We checked him in and was seen by the vet after a small wait, saying our goodbyes. The vet was kind enough and repeated what the ER vet told us, saying that he's stay there and be monitored. Then he was taken away.

It was 9am by now and I was hungry. The vet just happens to be next to a Dunkin'Doughnuts.Hubby was so sweet and said he was awake and hungry too, so we walked over and he ordered 2 doughnuts and I got myself a nummy toasted bagel with orange juice. My last meal before the dentist. Then it was off to home for another nap before the tooth extraction.

The dentist was amazing balls. There is nothing else to it. Pure amazing balls. They prescribed me some Valium to calm me down cause I was freaking the fuck out. Then after it took effect, the procedure was smooth as silk. Except the 2 needles in my mouth, that was hell, but fear of needles, go figure.

Then it was off to Publix for some foods and meds. Apparently our bank & credit card had no money on it. I was to drugged to be embarrassed. Hubby was sooooo embarrassed, but between the two cards, food got bought. But at the pharmacy counter there was no moolah left apparently. His wallet was emptyso he drove us home, saying he'd be back to pick up the meds.

At home I couldn't figure out why he was so upset. (Drugged still.) We put the food away & he started to leave when I stopped him, pulled out my wallet (sure there was nothing there) and found $10! Enough to pay for my meds, He eye-rolled, kisses me, sent me to bed, and left.

I woke up later that day next to Hubby and we lounged playing video games. Both of us wanting to play D&D, and I was more than willing to! But one of our players was sick, so no game. Boo~

The rest of the week was filled with me so sore. Squee gone and it left us feeling empty. And me packing, so much packing! Ugh.

Thankfully Squee is back at home with us. I'm taking him and Zentara with me tomorrow. Our sweet sweet friend is helping us move some stuff down, yay!! It's gonna be weird being there for 2 weeks without Hubby, though I will be driving up to see him every few days, and he's driving down to see me too.

Look!

I have a LOT to catch up on, this past week has been a trial, that's for sure.

Thankfully it all worked out so far.

In the meantime here's a sculpture to keep you distracted from the lack of post.

Blogger is still having problems uploading pictures from links, so if you want to get a proper look at this just go here.

For Wednesday

I'm writing this Monday night, having no idea how I'm going to be feeling. I might be fine or I might be curled up in bed. So I'm making sure that there's a post.

The apartment is really starting to look emptier and emptier. Everything is slowly being replaced with piles of boxes, taped up and labeled. My favorite part of packing is actually sealing and labeling the boxes. I'd probably be happy to do that as a full time job.

I did get a blister moving some boxes around. On my right pointer finger no less! Nasty and it hurts, but it could be worse.

Our, well my move, will be happening a bit sooner than expected. Daddy is going on his so called "vacation" for 15 days, and needs someone to watch the house. Hubby and I will drive him down to the airport and then he'll drive back up to work. I'll have my baby brother's car (hopefully), so I can go back up and load boxes and bring them down. Hubby will be commuting down every few days.

I know he's nervous.

Not that I can blame him. We're not normally apart, especially when we sleep. I only hope that things will transition smoothly. I can only hope.

On another note I do find it increasingly ironic that I keep sculpting dragons and things, making more things to pack. I haven't even decided how to pack the larger ones. All the small ones are fit snugly in a little decorative chest. It's soothing to make them and I guess in the end that's all that matters. I can not wait to paint them!

I did take advantage of the ungodly bright sun and did a photo shoot. Damn sun. Haven't uploaded any of the pictures yet. I keep trying different settings on my camera to get clearer more focused pictures. After the move it will be sooooo much easier to go out on the back deck for photo shoots. Totally looking forward to that.

I don't know what's with Blogger right now, the picture insert thingie is being stupid and it was with my last post with the Dragon Amalliah too, so I'm going to share a few pictures of Dragons and a sneak peek of the rough skeleton of my newest one. I'll fix the size proportion later. I know not sized properly and sticking out.

If anyone's interested I have an account on DeviantArt, you're more than welcome to look through it.

I'll tell ya what I want, what I really really want!

So it's 9:20 am.

HUGE

I should sooooo be sleeping right now. I'm completely tired, but not sleepy. After lying in bed for oh, let's just say, 4 freaking hours, I decided to get up. For a little bit at least.

I'm hungry, so I ate 3 rice cakes and 3 Hershey's almond nuggets. Then gulped a couple sips of sweet tea.

Meh.

I really, and I mean REALLY want an apple. Not apple sauce, not apple slices. I just want to crunch into a whole apple. We have apples downstairs, 3 in fact. I threw the 4th away cause it looked suspicious. Like it was going bad from the inside out, not like it was trying to plan a robbery.

Why am I not eating an apple?

Cause I can't frickin' bite into it without possibility (probably) breaking more of my broken tooth off. Damn tooth gets extracted (yoinked out) tomorrow. I don't want to make it any harder on the dentist (or my jaw) than it needs to be.

Grrrrr...

The sun is SO BRIGHT! Who said you can be this bright sun?

This would be the perfect photo opportunity for the small mass of figures I sculpted over the last 3 days. Ideal lighting. Birds chirping happily. Kitties curled up soundly in various places around the room.

Bah.

Well today, after I get my ass to sleep finally and wake up again, is filled with packing. We're at the 3 weeks and 6 day mark here people! Maybe, and I mean maybe, I might try to work on a new sculpting project after I get done packing. Who knows.

I'm totally stressing out over the dentist tomorrow. Stressing out cause Hubby is stressing out, and stressing out cause Daddy wants us to house-sit for him when he goes on "vacation". Pfft my Daddy never goes on vacation, we all know he's going up to visit his fiance, and we all know what that means.(~.^) Oh yeah, and by the way he wants me to drive with him down to the airport to drop him off! Oh Gods save me!! That's a frickin' 2 hour drive. EACH WAY.

Oh fuck me. I'm going to try to sleep or at least nap.

~

Breakfast today will be strawberries & cream oat meal.

Lunch will be chicken Ramen.

Dinner will be whatever the hell Hubby brings home. Or mac & cheese.
